Today in the AutoCrit Weekly Writing Roundup:
- Bestselling author James Scott Bell at the Kill Zone blog (what a name!) hammers home why, when it comes to your book, The Opening as Part of the Closing… Of the Deal.
- Author and book coach Jeff Goins talks about a crucial component of mindset with his opinion on The Difference Between Good Writers and Bad Writers.
- Gabriela Pereira at diyMFA shares the love for mood boards as she explains how to Use a Mood Board to Boost Your Writing.
That’s all for this week. See you next time!
I never heard of Mood Boards before, but I love the idea of creating some for my characters and settings. Thanks!
I create picture files and music files for almost every story and I write. Sometimes it helps to flesh out ideas to bring them to life on the page.
Music can be quite wonderful for setting the tone and pace of your scenes, can’t it? Also helps to visualise your scene like a movie with a soundtrack, timing the action.
Do you find a certain kind of music most helpful/least distracting, Anthony? Or do you leap across all musical spectrums?
