We'll provide a logline/prompt for the overall story to get you started. Join us for additional live streams and special guests!

Put your world-building skills to work and see how YOUR choices can transform the vision and scope of the original logline/prompt.

As a writer, you have the power to change the world. And we want to see you put it into practice.
Register for the Change the World Challenge and AutoCrit will provide you with an existing story prompt/logline as the foundation for your exercise.
From there, you'll discover how vast the possibilities become... as your choices in world-building take the foundations we have provided and open up a universe of potential.
Finally, you'll create a synopsis that fuses our logline with your new world. Submit it to our judges, and a selection of the most creative or surprising entries will be chosen to win a prize!

RJ Barker is a critically acclaimed and award-winning author of fantasy fiction. He won the 2020 British Fantasy Society (BFS) Robert Holdstock award for Best Novel for his fourth book, The Bone Ships.

No, and no. The Change the World challenge is open to everyone. There is no fee to join, and you don’t need to be an active AutoCrit member.
If you choose to, yes! By the end of the challenge, we hope you’ll have crafted an outline or synopsis for a new story based on the original logline/prompt that we provide. Submit your work to our judges, and we’ll choose a selection of the most striking or creative to win a prize.
No, there won’t be additional check-ins for this challenge, but we will be hosting live Q&As throughout.
The starting logline will be emailed to all registrants once the challenge begins, and we’ll also be hosting live announcements and Q&As on the AutoCrit YouTube channel.
