Here is an AutoCrit Adverb report for a bestseller:
When AutoCrit compared this manuscript with the average number of adverbs in published fiction, it found the total number used by this author as "good." However, upon further inspection at the word level, there are a few adverbs the author relies on too much.
The two that jump out are "quickly" and "slowly".
They account for nearly half the total number of adverbs found and the error jumps off the page!
It's too bad the author did not run their manuscript through AutoCrit first.
Once identified, removing adverbs is an easy fix with a big impact.
