Unearth forgotten worlds and fuel your fiction with low tech solutions in this live online Expert Series seminar.
Tired of relying on the same futuristic tropes? This Expert session highlights the potential of past and often forgotten knowledge and technologies when it comes to designing a sustainable society. Sometimes, these low-tech solutions can be copied without any changes, offering ready-made societal structures. More often, however, fascinating possibilities arise when you combine old technology with new knowledge and new materials, or when you apply old concepts and traditional knowledge to modern technology. Discover how to create complex and believable low tech societies in this exclusive seminar!
Kris De Decker is the author of Low-tech Magazine, an online publication that refuses to assume that every problem has a high-tech solution. Since 2018, Low-tech Magazine runs on a self-hosted, solar powered server, and since 2019 it is also available in print. Before the creation of Low-tech Magazine, Kris De Decker was reporting on cutting edge science and technology as a freelance journalist for newspapers and magazines. He was born in Belgium and lives in Spain.

What our Members Say About Our Courses
I've never felt so welcome and valued in a course before. Both teachers and students were so graceful towards one another from start to finish.
I enjoyed this course very much, and it has helped give me new things to think about when crafting my own work, regardless of genre. Thanks so much for putting it together!
One of the things I most wanted to improve was the scare factor and intense scenes, really building up that fear. And I thought the class helped with that a ton!
