AutoCrit is an online web-based platform. Although the site and tools are optimized for mobile viewing, we recommend using a desktop or laptop PC/Mac for the best experience.

While AutoCrit does not have a standalone desktop or mobile app, you can use the platform in offline mode to write and edit as you go. Analysis features, however, are not available offline.

You can also choose to print your editing reports with highlights included, so you can complete your tweaks the old-fashioned way when you’re on the road.

You can work on as many books and/or series as you like! Each can be stored as a separate project, ready for you to jump in and out whenever you need.

Absolutely, yes. Your projects are stored on 100% secure servers and never shared with, nor accessed by, any third parties – except in cases where, with your permission, our support team might take a look to help solve problems.

Absolutely not. AutoCrit produces recommendations based on style guidelines and trends in published fiction and non-fiction, but you’re always in control as the author. There are no hard rights or wrongs, here, so simply ignore any recommendation that doesn’t work for you.

Yes! When you revise your draft with AutoCrit first, you’ll give your editor a much cleaner manuscript. That means they can stop focusing on nitty-gritty details like how many adverbs you’ve used (almost always too many) and start looking at the bigger picture of the story itself… so your book knocks it out of the park on every level.

We love human editors (in fact, quite a few use our software!), so it’s our goal to make sure you have the best, most rewarding experience working together.

AutoCrit uses generative AI inside the Inspiration Studio, Story Analyzer, and Alpha & Beta readers to provide contextual feedback and spark ideas. 

These tools are completely optional and different to how the editing side of the platform operates. All editing reports are based on algorithmic, simple data sets, with no generative AI involved.

AutoCrit’s use of AI is purely assistive. As it stands, the software will not write for you. If you’re looking for a program that will take a basic idea and then produce chapters of prose on your behalf, we’re afraid AutoCrit won’t be the right fit.

Absolutely not. Any generative AI used is output only. Nothing is ever fed back into the AI’s knowledge base nor used to train it for future responses. We’re as protective of our members’ work as we are of our own.

At AutoCrit, “unlimited” means unlimited! You’re free to run and re-run any and all reports, whether that’s our core editing reports or advanced AI feedback, as many times as you like.

We don’t impose arbitrary limits, and you are not required at any time to purchase additional “credits” or “tokens” or anything like that to continue making use of any features.
