Proper Planning Prevents Painful Prose

Even if you're a dedicated pantser, we've all felt the pain of aimless writing. All those brilliant ideas bouncing around in your mind, but refusing to get on the page in a robust and captivating structure...

And before you know it, you're drowning in a sea of plot holes, inconsistent characters, lifeless chapters...

And worst of all: the dreaded sagging middle!

But writing shouldn't be like pulling teeth. Join us this October for the AutoCrit Story Prep Challenge, and we'll guide you start to finish through effectively prepping your story idea.

With weekly live streams and resources to keep you organized, you'll enjoy expert guidance from writers who've been in your shoes, plus a supportive community of fellow authors ready to cheer you on.

Prep in October, write in November, and finally get that book done!

Join us for additional LIVE streams every week throughout the month.

We'll be live each week during the challenge to discuss tips and techniques for effective prep and planning, and to keep you accountable for making consistent progress.

You'll have the chance to ask questions, get direct feedback and guidance, and take care of any blocks you might be facing.

Absolutely! There’s nothing wrong with “pantsing” your way through writing a novel, but we think you’ll still find plenty of helpful guidance to consider as we work our way through October. And hey… there’s always the 50/50 “plantsing” approach!

No. Our story prep challenge is not officially affiliated with the NaNoWriMo organization. November is, of course, the month of NaNo, which means prepping is a great idea if you plan to take it on… but you don’t need to have NaNoWriMo in mind to join us and plan your novel.
